Off Grid Battery – Fortress battery techniques utilize the business’s most environmentally benign chemistry- Lithium Ferro Phosphate, which eliminates operating temperature constraints, poisonous coolants, and the risk of thermal runaway and fireplace. The built-in good Battery Management System (BMS) integrates multilevel safety ideas: Overcharge and Deep Discharge Protection; Voltage and Temperature Observation; Cell balancing.
Off Grid Battery
Fortress high-performance Lithium Batteries are manufactured on the highest quality commonplace. It comes with a big power capability and fast charging and continuous discharge power. The proprietary structure and BMS get rid of the need for cooling or air flow, which creates an efficient round-trip conversion.
The Fortress Lithium Battery is safe, straightforward to install, constantly reliable, and highly environment friendly. It offers you the lowest lifetime energy cost
Reviews Fortress Power 18.5kWh
They have their very own touchscreen display that provides you with the state of charge the battery voltage, your current flow in and out of the battery bank. Each battery has a 250 amp breaker at the top. So, from the terminals on the battery, its overcurrent protection 250 amps out to the hundreds. You may instantly hook these up to an inverter, or you can wire them to a excessive current bus, and parallel multiple batteries collectively to gain a suitable capability in your utility.
This battery is nice for larger-scale off-grid functions sometimes, the minimum obviously goes to be 18 kilowatt-hours. But, if you wish to have building blocks of 18-kilowatt-hour chunks, that’s the place this specific battery is going to be best suited.
Fortress eVault 18.5kWh
So, you know sometimes we’ll be utilizing these batteries for purposes that are 30 kilowatt hours or extra, because of the numerous constructing blocks on account of the 18 kilowatt-hour capability of every of these individual banks.
Another cool function of this battery is, that it’s on casters. So, it weighs about 400 pounds however moving it around to the place its last resting place is going to be is pretty straightforward with the casters. This explicit battery has knockouts on the edges. On both aspect, it lets you put in like a one-inch conduit, or one-inch string aid right into the battery.

Fortress Power VS Tesla Powerwall
Comparison between the Fortress power battery and the Tesla Powerwall battery. The very first thing that I will point out is the protection of our battery system. Fortress uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry in addition to being more safer than the Tesla Powerwall chemistry.
Specifications | Fortress Power | Tesla Powerwall |
---|---|---|
Battery Chemistry | LFP | NMC |
Safety | Yes | No |
Usable Power | 16,5 | 13.5 kWh |
No. of Parallel Stacking | 8 | 10 |
Guaranteed Battery Cycles | 6.000 | 2.800 |
LCD Display | Yes | x |
Continuous Power | 8.2 KW | 5 KW |
Peak Output | 12 kW | 7 KW |
This safety additionally allows us to have more power and longer duration meaning, that we now have a 40% more storage capacity and a 100%, 40 p.c extra output, which means that you just’re capable of power more home equipment to your longer period of time.
Off Grid Battery – Fortress supplies a 10-year warranty with round a 12 to 15-year lifespan while Tesla provides round half of that maybe six to seven, eight years of lifespan. Now, you are probably wondering how did you calculate this by way of security and longevity.
Fortress Power 5.4kW
We calculate this using energy throughput. Energy throughput is the entire amount of energy a battery might be expected to store and deliver over its lifetime. So, when you see here the afford transparent evil has 88.8 make watt-hours of energy throughput.
The checks of Powerwall has only 37.8 make quite a lot of hours of energy throughput, most displaying that our battery shouldn’t be solely safer however gonna final a heck of quite a bit longer. And lastly, I’d prefer to convey up the cost. So, you can see right here, the fortress power system right here on the left, and the two Tesla Powerwall right here on the correct.
The put in cost of the fortress system is lower than that of the Tesla Powerwall with a larger inverter but in addition has a for much longer energy throughput of 88.8 in comparison to 75.6. So, you’ll be able to see after we take this, and we get the cost per dollar per kilowatt-hour the fortress power system is definitely extra environment friendly and better in terms of the dollars per kilowatt-hour that is being paid.

Fortress Evault Installation
1. Mounting and securing the battery
The Fortress eVault 18.5 is designed to stand on the floor with 4 wheels on the bottom. If desired, the wheels can be disassembled. We recommend putting the batteries on durable racks to avoid flooding. Please refer to the Fortress Lithium Battery Data Sheet for weight and dimension.
2. Mounting the battery pack to a wall
- Fasten the screws through the mounting brackets into the holes of the battery pack on both sides.
- Secure the mounting brackets to the wall with screws. Make sure to leave a space of
at last 2.18 inches in between the battery pack and the wall. - Lock the rollers on the battery pack
3. Connecting the battery to the Charge Controller and/or Hybrid Inverter
The battery terminals are positioned under the top cover. Please use the screwdriver to take
the screws along the top cover off.
Please make sure the breaker near the terminal is in the OFF position. Please install the positive cable first and the negative cable second. Please do not cross the positive and negative terminals; also, ensure the terminals are not connected to any metal mounting, fixture, or body part. Recommended terminal torque is 7.0 – 7.7 Nm (5.1 – 5.7 ft-lb)
The Fortress Lithium Batteries are equipped with two M8 threaded terminals with a lock washer and nut. The right-hand stud resides in a red high-temperature molded insert. This connection is for the positive lead. The left-hand stud resides in a black high-temperature insert. This connection is for the negative lead. 8mm ring terminals along with proper size wiring cables are required to connect the battery to the inverter/charger. Do not reverse polarity, doing so will void the warranty. Use a voltmeter to check polarity before connecting terminals.
