Reviews Fortress Power 18.5kWh
They have their own touchscreen display that provides you with the state of charge the battery voltage, your current flow in and out of the battery bank. Each battery has a 250 amp breaker on the top. So, from the terminals on the battery, its overcurrent protection 250 amps out to the masses. You might immediately hook these up to an inverter, or you could possibly wire them to a excessive current bus, and parallel multiple batteries together to realize a suitable capability on your utility.
This battery is great for larger-scale off-grid applications usually, the minimal obviously is going to be 18 kilowatt-hours. But, if you want to have building blocks of 18-kilowatt-hour chunks, that’s where this explicit battery is going to be best suited.
Fortress eVault 18.5kWh
So, you already know typically we’ll be using these batteries for functions that are 30 kilowatt hours or extra, due to the significant building blocks on account of the 18 kilowatt-hour capacity of each of those individual banks.
Another cool feature of this battery is, that it’s on casters. So, it weighs about 400 pounds but transferring it round to the place its last resting place goes to be is fairly straightforward with the casters. This particular battery has knockouts on the sides. On both facet, it allows you to put in like a one-inch conduit, or one-inch string aid right into the battery.

Fortress Power VS Tesla Powerwall
Comparison between the Fortress power battery and the Tesla Powerwall battery. The first thing that I will point out is the safety of our battery system. Fortress makes use of lithium iron phosphate chemistry along with being more safer than the Tesla Powerwall chemistry.
|Specifications||Fortress Power||Tesla Powerwall|
|Usable Power||16,5||13.5 kWh|
|No. of Parallel Stacking||8||10|
|Guaranteed Battery Cycles||6.000||2.800|
|Continuous Power||8.2 KW||5 KW|
|Peak Output||12 kW||7 KW|
This security also permits us to have extra power and longer duration meaning, that we have now a 40% more storage capability and a 100%, 40 percent more output, meaning that you’re able to power more home equipment on your longer amount of time.
Fortress Evault 18.5 Price – Fortress gives a 10-year guarantee with around a 12 to 15-year lifespan while Tesla gives around half of that perhaps six to seven, eight years of lifespan. Now, you’re probably wondering how did you calculate this when it comes to security and longevity.
Fortress Power 5.4kW
We calculate this utilizing energy throughput. Energy throughput is the total amount of energy a battery could be anticipated to retailer and deliver over its lifetime. So, for those who see here the afford clear evil has 88.8 make watt-hours of energy throughput.
The assessments of Powerwall has solely 37.8 make numerous hours of energy throughput, most displaying that our battery shouldn’t be only safer but gonna final a heck of quite a bit longer. And lastly, I’d wish to carry up the cost. So, you’ll be able to see right here, the fortress power system here on the left, and the two Tesla Powerwall right here on the best.
The put in cost of the fortress system is less than that of the Tesla Powerwall with a bigger inverter but also has a much longer energy throughput of 88.8 in comparison to 75.6. So, you’ll be able to see when we take this, and we get the cost per dollar per kilowatt-hour the fortress power system is actually extra environment friendly and higher in terms of the dollars per kilowatt-hour that’s being paid.

Fortress Evault Installation
1. Mounting and securing the battery
The Fortress eVault 18.5 is designed to stand on the floor with 4 wheels on the bottom. If desired, the wheels can be disassembled. We recommend putting the batteries on durable racks to avoid flooding. Please refer to the Fortress Lithium Battery Data Sheet for weight and dimension.
2. Mounting the battery pack to a wall
- Fasten the screws through the mounting brackets into the holes of the battery pack on both sides.
- Secure the mounting brackets to the wall with screws. Make sure to leave a space of
at last 2.18 inches in between the battery pack and the wall.
- Lock the rollers on the battery pack
3. Connecting the battery to the Charge Controller and/or Hybrid Inverter
The battery terminals are positioned under the top cover. Please use the screwdriver to take
the screws along the top cover off.
Please make sure the breaker near the terminal is in the OFF position. Please install the positive cable first and the negative cable second. Please do not cross the positive and negative terminals; also, ensure the terminals are not connected to any metal mounting, fixture, or body part. Recommended terminal torque is 7.0 – 7.7 Nm (5.1 – 5.7 ft-lb)
The Fortress Lithium Batteries are equipped with two M8 threaded terminals with a lock washer and nut. The right-hand stud resides in a red high-temperature molded insert. This connection is for the positive lead. The left-hand stud resides in a black high-temperature insert. This connection is for the negative lead. 8mm ring terminals along with proper size wiring cables are required to connect the battery to the inverter/charger. Do not reverse polarity, doing so will void the warranty. Use a voltmeter to check polarity before connecting terminals.
