Are Lithium-ion Batteries Safe?

The biggest advantage of lithium-ion batteries over lead-acid batteries is the maintenance. Lead-acid batteries require a fair amount of maintenance the whole time you have them. Additionally, if a lead-acid battery sits on a shelf fully charged, the charge will drain out in a couple of months. But a good lithium-ion battery can maintain a full charge for up to a year or more.

Lead Acid batteries, using the 50% discharge capacity mentioned above, will have approximately 250-350 life cycles before they need to be replaced.
