Fortress Evault 18.5Kwh Lithium Battery Review – Fortress battery programs utilize the business’s most environmentally benign chemistry- Lithium Ferro Phosphate, which eliminates operating temperature constraints, poisonous coolants, and the danger of thermal runaway and fireplace. The built-in smart Battery Management System (BMS) integrates multilevel security ideas: Overcharge and Deep Discharge Protection; Voltage and Temperature Observation; Cell balancing.
Fortress Evault 18.5Kwh Lithium Battery Review
Fortress high-performance Lithium Batteries are manufactured on the highest quality customary. It comes with a large power capability and quick charging and continuous discharge power. The proprietary structure and BMS eliminate the necessity for cooling or air flow, which creates an efficient round-trip conversion.
The Fortress Lithium Battery is protected, simple to install, persistently reliable, and highly efficient. It provides you the bottom lifetime energy cost
Reviews Fortress Power 18.5kWh
They have their own touchscreen display that provides you with the state of charge the battery voltage, your current flow in and out of the battery bank. Each battery has a 250 amp breaker on the top. So, from the terminals on the battery, its overcurrent protection 250 amps out to the hundreds. You may immediately hook these up to an inverter, or you might wire them to a excessive current bus, and parallel a number of batteries collectively to gain an appropriate capability for your utility.
This battery is great for larger-scale off-grid functions usually, the minimum clearly is going to be 18 kilowatt-hours. But, if you want to have building blocks of 18-kilowatt-hour chunks, that’s where this particular battery goes to be greatest suited.
Fortress eVault 18.5kWh
So, you know typically we’ll be using these batteries for applications which might be 30 kilowatt hours or more, due to the significant building blocks because of the 18 kilowatt-hour capacity of each of those individual banks.
Another cool function of this battery is, that it’s on casters. So, it weighs about 400 pounds but shifting it round to the place its last resting place goes to be is pretty easy with the casters. This particular battery has knockouts on the perimeters. On either facet, it allows you to put in like a one-inch conduit, or one-inch string relief right into the battery.

Fortress Power VS Tesla Powerwall
Comparison between the Fortress power battery and the Tesla Powerwall battery. The first thing that I will point out is the protection of our battery system. Fortress makes use of lithium iron phosphate chemistry along with being extra safer than the Tesla Powerwall chemistry.
|Specifications||Fortress Power||Tesla Powerwall|
|Usable Power||16,5||13.5 kWh|
|No. of Parallel Stacking||8||10|
|Guaranteed Battery Cycles||6.000||2.800|
|Continuous Power||8.2 KW||5 KW|
|Peak Output||12 kW||7 KW|
This security additionally permits us to have extra power and longer duration which means, that we’ve got a 40% extra storage capacity and a 100%, 40 percent more output, that means that you just’re in a position to power more appliances for your longer amount of time.
Fortress Evault 18.5Kwh Lithium Battery Review – Fortress provides a 10-year warranty with round a 12 to 15-year lifespan while Tesla gives round half of that maybe six to seven, eight years of lifespan. Now, you are probably wondering how did you calculate this when it comes to security and longevity.
Fortress Power 5.4kW
We calculate this using energy throughput. Energy throughput is the total amount of energy a battery will be anticipated to retailer and deliver over its lifetime. So, in the event you see here the afford clear evil has 88.8 make watt-hours of energy throughput.
The checks of Powerwall has solely 37.8 make quite a lot of hours of energy throughput, most showing that our battery shouldn’t be only safer but gonna last a heck of so much longer. And lastly, I’d prefer to bring up the cost. So, you may see here, the fortress power system right here on the left, and the two Tesla Powerwall here on the fitting.
The put in cost of the fortress system is lower than that of the Tesla Powerwall with a larger inverter but additionally has a for much longer energy throughput of 88.8 in comparison to 75.6. So, you can see after we take this, and we get the cost per greenback per kilowatt-hour the fortress power system is actually more efficient and better by way of the dollars per kilowatt-hour that’s being paid.

Fortress Evault Installation
1. Mounting and securing the battery
The Fortress eVault 18.5 is designed to stand on the floor with 4 wheels on the bottom. If desired, the wheels can be disassembled. We recommend putting the batteries on durable racks to avoid flooding. Please refer to the Fortress Lithium Battery Data Sheet for weight and dimension.
2. Mounting the battery pack to a wall
- Fasten the screws through the mounting brackets into the holes of the battery pack on both sides.
- Secure the mounting brackets to the wall with screws. Make sure to leave a space of
at last 2.18 inches in between the battery pack and the wall.
- Lock the rollers on the battery pack
3. Connecting the battery to the Charge Controller and/or Hybrid Inverter
The battery terminals are positioned under the top cover. Please use the screwdriver to take
the screws along the top cover off.
Please make sure the breaker near the terminal is in the OFF position. Please install the positive cable first and the negative cable second. Please do not cross the positive and negative terminals; also, ensure the terminals are not connected to any metal mounting, fixture, or body part. Recommended terminal torque is 7.0 – 7.7 Nm (5.1 – 5.7 ft-lb)
The Fortress Lithium Batteries are equipped with two M8 threaded terminals with a lock washer and nut. The right-hand stud resides in a red high-temperature molded insert. This connection is for the positive lead. The left-hand stud resides in a black high-temperature insert. This connection is for the negative lead. 8mm ring terminals along with proper size wiring cables are required to connect the battery to the inverter/charger. Do not reverse polarity, doing so will void the warranty. Use a voltmeter to check polarity before connecting terminals.
